I had mine done a few years ago and well worth it i might add even if it does hurt like a *****!

You will probably find that after 2 weeks it'll still be very sore to the touch and you wont even want to start messing with it!!

BUT one possibilty maybe is i don't know what your planning on having put in it when its pierced but mine was pierced with the little straight bar which i later changed to a hoop, but if you ge the bar to start off with cant you put a very small clear plastic ball on the front of it (you can buy these from any good piercing place) and then you wont even be able to see it as the back of the bar is flat and completely un noticable.

When i got my tongue pierced i also did this when i went to work - just put a clear plastic ball on it, i don't see why it wont work with your ear. The just wear your hair down and VOILA! who needs to know.

Good luck!

Most piercings need to be left alone for at least 8 weeks before you remove the stud. If you take out the stud after only two weeks then you might risk infection or the hole closing up. I would say don't do it if you can't leave it alone for the recommended amount of time.

By the way Tragus piercing is where you pierce that little piece of cartilage that sticks out from your head at your ear. It is kind of hard to explain it. You know the ear is crescent shaped attaching to the head at the top and bottom of the crescent and then there is a little piece of cartilage that sticks out from the ear above the earlope, See the url below and it will explain better.

It is best to let a piercing completely heal before changing the jewelry out at all, including changing to a retainer. There is a wonderful website with a pleathitude of information on body modification, www.bmezine.com . Changing jewelry to soon can cause implications to the way it heals. Depending on your immune system, most piercings take at least a month to heal and completely scar over, some may take up to 6 months to a year. most states and any respectable tatto/piercing parlor are going to regulate that you be at least 18 years of age to get a piercing, with or with out consent of a legal guardian. if you are in a school that doesn't allow piercings, I'd suggest just waiting until you graduate so that you can give yourself plenty of time to heal and properly take care of your fresh wound. Afterall, your tragus isn't going anywhere.

As the tragus is a thick piece of cartiledge you're not going to want to take the original jewellery out for a lot longer than 2 weeks otherwise there'sno way it's going to heal properly.

My advice is wait until you've left school then get your piercing so you can look after it properly.

I dont know about harming, but it will still hurt anyway! I know it's really sad but would you consider wearing medical tape over your new piercing for school just until it is properly healed & you can remove it then?

yes, i think it will. i totally recommend that you wait, yep sorry, that dreaded word, until you can wear a piercing comfortably and without any fuss. if you still want a piercing and so you can hide it, better if you have long hair, but go for the forward helix/anti - helix... its easy to put in a very small ring, and cover up!

I dont think it will harm it but, it hurts like a son of a b*tch! You'll have to keep it in alot longer than 2 weeks i think.
