Here is a simple question.

Men, and even women, why is a thin girl more attractive then a curvy, voluptuous female?

If two brunets stood side by side, both standing at 5’7” with lovely faces, the only difference is in their body structure…One thin, the other thick…which one would you choose to talk to? Even if you knew the larger one was a sweetheart, and the thinner one was a little self-centered? Or even vise versa?

personally i think almost people have something beautiful about them physically and mentally its a matter of what attracts you to what about a person. I think the reason thin women are revered in our culture is its simple its what the media puts out there constantly and some of us are obviously buying it since its still there! The media pushes for us to feel like crap about our selves to generate a forever consuming society. our boobs are too small - buy a 50.00 push up bra too big?- buy a minimizer cellulite? thousands of over priced creams to take care of it. Dont like your hair eye colour? want a permanent change tons of different surgeries to change or turn back the clock! Heaven forbid anyone should look their age naturally! ITS INSANE to See so many things that people spends millions on to change their appearance and if the media didnt tell us what to think would people ever feel bad about there appearance ? probably not since we wouldn't be told what to compare ourselves too! It would be nice to see an end to this madness women and men need to start feeling ok about themselves and just be happy where does the rat race end?

I think it's because what we see society has done about showing what beauty is and it pre conditions us to some extent on what we think is beautiful or attractive. Think about this: Back in Marilyn Monroe's day women were curvy and thick looking and now alot of them are too thin and straight. I think it also depends on the individual because we are all different and going to be attracted to different people.

I don't talk to people based on what they look like; I never have and we should not be doing that because that's called judging. I have friends who are thin and straight and others who are thick and curvy. It does not matter what we look like on the outside, what matters is the inside.

If we're reducing this to the purely physical without the personality considerations, the curves all day every day. That's not to say that a slim girl can't have curves. Proportion and shape. Curves send these cues to the instinct driven part of the brain. But if asked for the same girl just in two sizes, then more curves and flesh is better.

I am 5"7 and used to be nice a curvy. I wasnt happy at the time because everyone wants to be thinner or taller etc. but something happened recently which caused me to loose lots of wieght and now im the 5"7 thin one and i hate it! I want my hips, bum and boobs back. I can't believe that i wanted to be thinner before. Even i know that i look like a stick!
Curvier is better and a lot of people have let me know that i was better before!

Personally I like a curvy full figured girl. The truth is, the fashion industry sells thin, because it makes the most money. If we allowed ourselves to be what we are naturally, how profitable would that be.
Please know if you are curvy and full figured, there are many,many men like myself who find you attractive.

I would chose to talk to both of them. I don't judge on size and if the larger one was a sweetheart and the thinner one was self centred, I would talk to the larger girl.

Thick looks much better than skinny. A curvy hourglass figure is sexy and feminine, bones are not. HTH : )

Are you asking about talking or more? If talking, most people would choose the "thicker" one, if you asking about more than talking and relationships, then like it or not, most people have to be physically attracted to someone before they will approach them for a relationship. It's the old "first impressions" concept. Your first impression is your appearance, if that fails you, then you are already starting on a loosing note. Same question could be asked about bald men, men with harry backs, men and women with acne problems, etc. It's all about the first impression.

I think curvy women look better, you need something to hold on to. Curves are what make women look like women and not look like men.
