Best thing is to go and get measured in a bra shop or department store - they will help you and get you the right bra.

Have someone else measure you (you can't do it accurately by yourself). Have them face you and measure around your rib cage almost directly under your bust. Have them pull snug because your doing this over cloths; but don't do it over a bra wire. Whatever this number is add 5. Example 31 inches would be a size 36. If you are a 33-round up to 34, 35 to 36 and so on.

Then have them measure the fullest part of your bust. Have the tape loose so that you can put 3 fingers in comfortably in between. The difference between this number and the first number is the cup. 1 inch is A, 2 inches is a B, 3 inches is a C, 4 inches is a D, and 5 inches is a DD and so on.

You can go to a bra store and they will measure you and give you an idea where to start. I have had a hard time with this one. I am a DDDD cup and when I got to the stores and they measure me they always say that I a DDD cup and I try on the bra that they say I wear and they are always wrong. It does make a huge difference in appearance if you don't have the wrong size and fit. The bra shouldn't be cutting into you at all and you should not be buldging out either. It should fit very comfortable.

I agree with the above, get measured although people opinions do differ so you may get a slightly diffrent measurement in 2 diffrent shops.
But don't worry about that too much, they all have a slightly diffent fit in the same way that a size 12 dress isn't always size 12.

I know all this stuff and i'm a straight guy, i have however spent many an hour studying them closely.lol

If you post your measurements here, I will give you an idea of what size you are.

I need the following measurements in inches:

1) Measurement under the bust around the ribcage.
2) Measurement around the fullest part of your bust.
3) Upper ribcage measurement (above breasts & under amrpits)

If you can do that, I will let you know what size or round about you should be. HTH : )

Get measured. Go to a department store like Sacs or Macy's and ask someone in the bra department to measure you. They don't do it a K-mart or Target, so don't ask there!
Most women do not get measured and do not wear the correct size.

you need to try several on, the 'formula' doesnt work on most women! Start with a band sixe that matches your ribcage measurement, then see what cup size fits best, then experiemnt eitherside until something is just right

measure just below your breast where the band would go.
take that measurement down.
next measure on your fullest part of breast, if it's one inch more, you take a A, if two inches more, you take a B and so on.

for example: Your main measurement just below where the band goes is '38" ' you measure your fullest breast and it's 42"
then your bra would be a 38 D

best thing you can do is go and get measured! if the cups wrinkle try a smaller cup size! if the back digs in try a bigger back size eg. 32 - 34. if your boobs overfill your cup, which makes you to look to have 4 boobs try a bigger cup size eg. B - C. B ut still best to go nad get measured!
