I moved form north carolina to south florida for a job, and 3 days before i was to start they told me that the person that i was replacing had decided to stay at that location. Needless to say I'm out thousands of dollars for the move.

You need an attorney who handles civil matters such as contract law unless you had an employment contract which would mean you need someone who handles employment law.

Get a referral from the local bar association.

Florida law most likely applies here, so you will need a FL attorney who specializes in employment law. I'm not sure if FL is an employment at will state. If so, you will have, at best, a tough legal battle. You will have to decide if it is worth the money.
