The spirit board is made for that reason, to contact spirits or to let them contact you. I have used a spirit board on several occasions, contacting elementals, my father in law and my grandmother, early on in life I used one to contact my father. They are a powerful tool, and must be used with caution. The spirit board that I use know is a hand crafted board made by my husband. You can also do automatic writing to contact someone (it is much safer), but you should be cautious with this method also, as what you might get might be a prank or something misleading.

I have never played or using the Ouija Board... I won't wanna... Besides, I don't wanna get myself into danger or being contacted by some dead spirits or whatsoever... Yikes~

But there is an explanation from the Skeptic's Dictionary < http://skepdic.com/ouija.html > : "Those using the board either consciously or unconsciously select what is read."

& if you want to prove it to yourself, follow the advice of that same site : "Simply try it blindfolded for some time, having an innocent bystander take notes on what letters are selected. Usually, the result will be unintelligible nonsense."

I read your question last night and I have thought about it all day. It was your compassion and concern for what your cousin is going through that drew me back to your question and I felt it necessary to give you my opinion. Your cousin has opened the door to another realm, whether it be into the supernatural or through a door in her own mind. Either way, she is starting to slip into a state known as psychosis and she may eventually completely lose touch with reality and have a psychotic episode. She is at a very dangerous point. Your options now include having her treated by a mental health professional or seeking spiritual help. Even in the bible it was known that demons could possess people and animals but a doctor will claim that she is mentally ill. Either route your family decides to take, medical or spiritual, you are to be commended for being concerned. She needs people around her who care for her and they need to know that her actions at this time should not be taken personally because she is being influenced by what she is hearing. I wish there had been more details. Did she use the board by herself? (never good) and does she seem to want to use it more and more? It is possible to contact spirits through the board but you have no way of knowing who you are speaking to or how that spirit will use you to get what it wants. Good spirits can contact you without a board. A good spirit contacted would not tell her to do things that are unhealthly for her, like to stop eating.

I believe you can contact spirits using a Ouija board, but only if your younger sibling follows all the rules. I found this out the hard way just the other day. What can I say, she's blood, but she can be such a pecker head sometimes. Lol.

I have used the Ouija board when I was younger, about ten years ago. It was me, my brother, and two cousins. We were asking the spirit questions and next thing we knew, we all saw a framed painting on the wall reflecting our kitchen in chaos. (The kitchen is the room we were playing in).

a group of us in college tried it. we sopposedly contacted spirits. but for some reason it only worked when "julie" was in the circle, when she was not included the board did not move.

even if the ouija board did work, i don't think i have the patience to sit there and wait for it to move.

i like using the pendulum i believe that really works!

this a freaky that happened to me today at work, i was talking about the movie "the omen" and i was immitating the scene where the lady goes "this is for you damian". while i was talking about it i was putting a couple of blank documents together when a patients hospital blue card fell out from between the papers the name of the child on the card was "damian". i stopped immitating right after. lol

Hmmm... touchy subject! First of all, I would definitely suggest that you research the topic before you try something like that. I believe in ghosts, spirits, demons, angels, etc. and I would never try that. I have heard stories of people who tried it and ended up having an unwanted spirit become attatched to them! Spirits are something you shouldn't fool around with. But on the other hand, if you do your research and you still want to do it, go ahead, just make sure you're prepared! It could get very scary!

It's not a playtoy, that much I can say for sure. You'll contact SOMEthing. But it probably WON'T be who you WANT to contact. The board seems to have an affinity for drawing negative things. There's a LOT to learn to make it safer. Check out the following web site.

Penn and Teller are out to turn a profit. :) Of COURSE they're going to debunk things. Do I believe them as gospel too? No. I believe what I know to be true. Not what someone else tries to feed me. I KNOW such things exists and work. And I don't collect a paycheck for saying whether they do or don't exist.

No. You cannot contact anything through a Ouija board... it's all a hoax. Penn & Teller did a good job debunking this useless piece of cardboard.

I believe you can. I've never even seen a real Ouija board but I think it would be fun to play.

Never tried it but I'm too freaked out by all the horror stories to try but I would like too. Preferably with some friends instead of alone on a dark night.
