Scientists talk about going to the planets and some even talk about going to the stars but we are NEVER going anywhere with a candle stuck up the rear .

The short answer to your question is "politics".

NASA has to serve far too many masters. Every senator or representative wants a big project (or a big piece of a bigger project) in their state or district. As a result, there are a lot of projects that NASA could do without but that they must support in order to keep the U.S. congress happy enough that their budget is safe.

Until we are able to set out no more than five specific goals for NASA and give them the funding to achieve them, the space program will flounder as it has.

i'm 40plus. I agree that as quickly as we've been youthful we imagined lunar bases and manned Mars missions via the 300 and sixty 5 days 2000. it relatively is been a great sadness. there replaced into controversy over funds spending even in the process the Apollo missions. yet usa understood the objectives of attaining the Moon until eventually now 1970 and it replaced into accomplished. Following that, NASA could no longer arise with any sparkling undertaking objectives and the yankee public lost interest. The funds cuts quickly accompanied by using recession interior the 1970's. As I realize it, the Reagan administration well known unmanned probes to the dearer manned missions and it set the tone for the subsequent 2 many years. The holiday layout replaced into improper from the commencing up. It replaced into no longer the main suitable layout interior the 1980's. It replaced into the main inexpensive. i will remember interpreting technological expertise magazines interior the previous due 70's which suggested that the recent shuttles could be commencing up at a value of one consistent with month. Setbacks and mess united statesmoved that to 3 or 4 consistent with 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. Wars and the protection funds have sucked the yankee taxpayer dry. The few money that are left could nicely be budgeted in the direction of different courses which contain the area application. thinking the money that NASA has had to artwork with, probes have given us a lot powerful training approximately our photograph voltaic gadget. this is using the ageing area shuttles that we are able to refocus on manned missions. The shuttles will quickly be replaced with greater technologically progressed and greater effective fashions. a sparkling area race to touchdown a guy on Mars has renewed interest from the customary public. This all with a bit of luck will mirror in greater money to this technique. fortunately, Bush Jr has taken a management place in a purpose of making everlasting moonbases. regrettably, he's likewise a warmonger. it would in all probability help if greater human beings have been counseled of the multitude of reward we've gained as a effect of the area application. additionally, it would help if NASA provided greater objectives to the yankee public to stir greater interest and help. this is congress and the White residing house which make certain investment quantities. this could basically improve if the customary public demands it. until eventually then, this is sturdy to stay in touch with what the unmanned probes are attaining. many of the learning they carry at the same time is relatively outstanding.

NASA has been "caught with its pants down" due to the fact that a reasonable alternative to its worn-out fleet of space shuttles has not been able to "get off the drawing board". And the different administrations under which it has existed since the USA put a man on the moon has never been in favor of returning to space with the actual idea of building a station on the moon - which is really the cheapest alternative to building a space station in orbit around the earth.

Space travel is expensive and dangerous. The govt. has only so much money to spend. Look up the cost of the apollo missions.

Also the space race back during the cold war sped things up quite a bit. Today there is no space race, so being the first to get to mars, set up a base on the moon, ect. is not a high priority.

I am disappointed too, but all is not lost. Suborbital private space flight is being developed right now and I have great hopes for this to evolve into private orbital and even lunar space flight within the lifetime of young people.

Absolute zero will be possible when we develop fusion technology. Than it won't matter. We will be able to create space "time" anomalies. That along with high power computer number crunching and simple propulsion will make warp technology a reality. Going from one relativity to another equal relativity (going around the light barrier), will be easy and inexpensive.

Sorry, you're not going up in the Enterprise anytime soon.

But if you'd look around a bit, you'd realize that we are exploring other planets. It's just much safer and more cost effective to do it with robots.

Their is a deadly band of radiation between the earth and the moon called the Van Ryan Radiation Belt. Of coarse they try to keep this secret for what purpose who knows, And they needed to fake their moon trips. DO your own research see what you find, make up your own mind.
