If your were GOOD, yes. If not, you get the dude with the pitchfork. lol!
I've heard many stories, even from nursing home nurses, of patients seeing dead spouses or other relatives, in the hours before they pass on. The person is perfectly lucid, except for being able to see "Uncle Phil" in the room, waiting patiently to act as their guide to the other side. It'd be nice to think there is something to it.

some people who claim they had out-of-body expereinces state that they saw a lighted tunnel and relatives at the end of the tunnel...but given the fact that I am alive, I can't say for sure

I really don't believe in heaven or hell. So, I guess for me my answer would have to be, when you are dead thats it. No family, nothing on the other side as there is no other side to get to.
