America should acknowledge international law, which says these waters are Canadian. Hopefully it will be resolved amicably, but beware - America was sent packing when it attacked British North America (as it then was) in 1812 and 1819.

I loved this insertion of editorializing:
"as global warming melts the ice in the Northwest Passage."
Uh huh. Because global warming is 100% fact! Ice only melts. It never forms elsewhere.

1) last I checked, it was 2006, so no it isn't 1812.
2) Why would we want to go to war with Canada? When did the attack us? When did they threaten to attack us?
Answer to both questions is NO.
