oh no dear it was completely accidental that it occur ed just before elections. lol, of course it was a ploy, politicians no matter how they act are not stupid, but they think that the American public is that is why they do this sort of thing, to swing your opinion. Even though Saddam has nothing to do with the war on terror and neither does Iraq if u think about it. He is a distraction from a failure to get osama! simple as that. Now they are going to use his sentencing as propaganda to show how good they have been doing. They are just trying to manipulate people and it is sad and pathetic!

A senior judge in Iraqi court sentenced him. As far as a political ploy, it's not even worth debating - there are good arguments for both sides. However, under thier law, any veridict of death is automatically routed to an appeals court, where it will be confirmed or denied. As far as the election, I don't think it would sway any voters from one side to another - which is what would be desireable. I think it will just embolden supporters in thier position, and nets no new votes for either side.

i became worried about the lack of existence toll through Bush/Rumsfeld decision to invade Iraq. Why would the human beings insurrection? They needed Saddam out of capacity did not they? i'm particular your American authorities has considered this and made all the necessary arrangements to attend to it. you in basic terms must believe your leaders and relax certain that they have got the count number less than administration. they'll do what's had to save their struggling with men and women human beings out of harms way. maximum individuals supported the invasion. I be conscious that now they are saying "All we can do is pray". For those of you who do not pray, attempt vote casting on Tuesday.

"Although the trial was expected to last months longer, the date of the verdict was moved up, in part, by ending the evidentiary phase before all of the defense's witnesses could be heard.
Presiding judge Raouf Rasheed Abdel-Rahman -- the third judge to oversee the trial -- shut down the testimony before it was complete..."

Saddam was sentenced by a court in Iraq. Because it took place in Iraq and the conviction was a haning i doubt that the US had much of a role in it. Had the us played a role he would probably sit in a jail cell until he died. So the thought of the sentece being a ploy by the US is pretty unlikely

well the UN, the EU and all those important people sentenced him and he actually deserved it. I'm against the death penalty but what he did is way beyond d what i am against . he killed many people because of their religion and got away with it. it wasn't really a political ply because it wasn't a government who decided but it was all those very important organizations that help the world and fight for human rights. like i said before, like the United Nations and the European Union

yeah, he should have been tried by his countrymen or in a neutral country - sends a strong message throughout the world that this is the way an 'ex friend of the US' is treated. Not a good message at all.
