I've read some things about the job and it says you have to have a license to be able to euthanize and give medications and shots to animals...how do you get those licenses to be able to apply for the job?

that sounds more like they are looking for a CKO (Certified Kennel Technician)

Because there are regular kennel technicians that do the basics - feed, walk, clean, help with grooming... but they are rarely allowed to administer medications or assist in Euthanasia without the proper certification / training.

here is what CKT's usually have to have -

at least 3 years of professional experience working at a boarding facility (IE being a regular kennel technician), they normally have to be at manager status at a kennel/boarding facility prior to taking the certification exams, and have Have successfully completed both the ABKA CPCT and CAPCT courses.

plus there are certian standards you'd have to adhere to.

This is not the "law" as all states, counties, privately owned boarding facilities, have their own requirements... and some are more lax than others... but if we're talking Euthanasia and working with medications and vaccinations... we're probably talking about a certification requirement.
