The sun is very gradually getting hotter. In about 5.6 billion years, most of the oceans will have boiled and most life on Earth will be gone.

In about 12.233 billion years, the sun will start to run out of fuel and become a red giant star. It will expand until the outer surface is somewhere between the present location of Earth and Mars. All life on Earth will end.

This will be because there is no more hydrogen left to make into helium in the core of the sun. When this happens, the sun will start to collapse (not enough force from core pushing out) until it starts fusing helium! This will result in a very dense and unimaginably hot core that produces so much energy that it pushes the outer layers of the sun out to where Earth is now.

In 12.365 billion years it will run out of helium too and blow its outer layers off entirely when it starts fusing heavier elements. The end result will be a white dwarf (large ball of slowly cooling fusion waste) and a very pretty, very large bubble of glowing gas that will look something like this:

A star like our Sun will last about 10 billion years as a normal star. Our Sun is about 5 billion years old already (4.6 billion if you want to be more precise) so it only has about 5 billion years left. However, as someone else said, the Sun is very slowly getting hotter (this is NOT the current cause of global warming, however!) so Earth will be toast in less than 5 billion years.

The life of the Sun is directly proportional to the amount of Helium and Hydrogen gas in it
The general astronomical prediction is that the Sun's resources would last for another 4.9 billion light years
The mathematical formula uses the physics of Nuclear Fusion, Fission and loss in mass. It is calculated by determining the loss in mass of Helium and Hydrogen with that of the physical mass of the Sun. As per this the life of the sun would be

The sun is 4 or 5 billion years old now and is expected to last another 5 billion years or so before it runs out of hydrogen to power its nuclear reactions.

the life of sun depends on the need of people.whenever they did not get the optional source of light of sun only till the sun is alive and when they get the sun will die.now the age of sun is 4.5 billion of year and its total life is 12.55billion of years.so it will remain as a white darf in universal and smaller then earth.
