Some body asked this question last week. I dont put on mascara with an open mouth....thats just ugly!

that is a awesome question, never thought of that before, maybe when your mouth is open it makes it easier to put on mascara bc your eyes are more open

Well they can, but it would mean concentrating on keeping their mouth closed as well as concentrating on applying their mascara. When the mouth is closed, it is because you are using your orbicularis oris muscle. When you are concentrating on something else, your muscles usually relax including the orbicularis oris muscle. It's the same when you are asleep, your mouth tends to open.....it is just the muscle relaxing. HTH : )

It elongates the face making it easier to put on... A woman COULD put it on without opening her mouth, but it will look better if she opens it.

Because when we open our mouths it opens our eyes wider and makes the application easier.

Good question - I know when I'm putting it on - my mouth is wide open - for what reason, I don't know, it just is.
