Rome: Once a small village by a ford in the major river in central Italy, Rome lies on the banks of the Tiber River. The village grew into a major city under the rule of the Etruscans in the centuries before Christ. In time it covered the traditional "seven hills" beside the river. According to tradition, Rome was founded by Romulus and Remus, two boys who were said to have been nourished by a wolf. The road known as the Appian Way linked Rome with ports and both the east and west coasts of Italy.
And I do have to say, "What are they teaching you these days?".

Rome (Italian and Latin: Roma) is the capital city of Italy, and the country's largest and most populous comune, with about 2.5 million residents (3.8 million considering the whole urbanised area, as represented by the Province of Rome). Capital of the Lazio region of central-eastern Italy, Rome is located across the confluence of the river Aniene into the Tiber.

Yes, I agree with the person who said their mind boggles.
At 10, I knew every major country in the world and its capital, and had some idea of its population and what it produced.
What the heck are they reaching you. Have you not got an Atlas in the house? Go look at the map of Italy, its not difficult to see what is the capital.
I am very sorry for the youth of today. Even with the massive resource of the internet, they are ignorant of world things.
