Saddam Hussein's execution would only be just if all his Western supporters, who knew what Saddam was allegedly doing, provided Saddam with the tools to continue his activites, all perish with Saddam Hussein. Therefore, I would also like to see all of Saddam Hussein's original Western supporters and croonies: George Bush senior, Donald Rumsfeld and his pals, Thomas Gage - Tony Blair and his imperialistic British bunch, Francis Smith - George Bush junior (for unnecessarily sacrificing the lives of innocent civilians), Dick Chenney and, perhaps, Colin Powell - guilty by association - all perish on the day Saddam Hussein dies!

He was always going to hang. Its not going to make a blind bit of difference.
Shias are fighting for power. Sunnis are fighting for power under the banner of Sadam. It'll now just change to 'revenge for Sadam'...
Sigh....

It was inevitable from the very beginning, but I don't think it's the best thing. His supporters will see him as having been martyred in the name of Islam and this can only lead to more civil unrest in Iraq and the Middle East as a whole.
When does the Bush/Blair war crimes trial start?

It is sad that Saddam even existed, to cause so much death of so
many of his own people. Here he is," As you do unto others.....
it will be done unto him." In a more civilized way would be more humane, and spare us from seeing more violence on the news. As difficult as this may be "Pray for your enemies" ... say a prayer for him.

Don't hang him!
Put him back into power, he's been punished. He's the only one who can sort the country out, if he uses means not in line with UN conditions then slap him again.... Next Iran?

I was very surprised, as I thought they would not have the guts so to speak to do it. Although, this may cause more conflict, in which we have to get involved again! At least we will have one less evil soul in this world I suppose.

I would most likely want to hear what he has to say . but I would not have that opportunity to do so.he has been stopped( after )the fact.and this troubles me more.I remember a woman 's story somewhere around five years ago. she too was a mass killer ,and before she was injected with the lethal injection. She gave her soul to God. Do you suppose he still has one to give maybe the people will find some comfort in his last words .

I think its wrong. Yes, Hussein was a bad man but he knew how to deal with the people of his land. They were scared of him. look at Iraq now. You don't fight murder with murder.

I feel sorry for him, because, he is being sentenced by one who is not connected to his country....If he were tried by the Iraqis, then the matter would have been different...
