The cost of child care is huge because if an infant separates from mommy more than 10 hours a week in the first year, there is severe damage to the emotional and intellectual functioning of that child.

This separation causes the hormone Cortisol to flood the infant brain. This flooding causes learning to be impaired and bonding to be impaired. The younger a child goes into care, the more likely he/she is to have attachment problems, to even be a sociopath.

There are also physical health consequences for infants separated from their mommys.

The best you can do if you go this very harmful route is to get a person, not a center, to be your child's substitute mother. You want someone who will be available for years - as you were supposed to be. The more caregivers a child experiences, the greater the risk of sociopathy.

Cost analysis? Broken hearted child, lowered iq, harmed family life, poorer social skills, lowered school performance.... great results! and NICHD research over decades says the damage is done even with grandma as the substitute care giver, even with mary poppins as the nanny.

Babies evolved to need their mommys. Go to the national zoo and spend some time observing the primates and you will see how infants/mothers are supposed to interact.

I stay in baton rouge and that i have a 4 month old her daycare is 100 and twenty per week. there have been some that I referred to as that fee alil more effective and alil a lot less. At day care centers it do not count number the what time the %. up or drop off time is you pay a flat cost no count number what. notwithstanding if the toddler is sick and misses an afternoon you nonetheless pay for the entire week. once the toddler is about a year old the fee drops alil and drops back even as they are about 3. In abode daycares run alil diff. in case you do not make a lot money or are in college the state can help you pay daycare fee. searching on your pay you may want to pay 1/2 or a fourth and the state will pay something. seem up baby Care Assitance in Texas on goolge.

too much! babies these days are terribly expensive. What do you mean by care, overall care or just doctor visits? If you are talking about someone to watch your child check out the site below, it lists virginia as one of the most expensive states to pay for child care over 11,000 per yr. If you are speaking of overall care then add the child care costs, plus approximate doctor visits, and general nutrition and toiletry needs and your probably talking at least 35,000 a yr. good luck, i hope this helped

Well, I am in NY. At a regular daycare here one day for that age is $35. However, there are some home daycares that I checked into that were more around $2 or $2.50 per hour for a day. I pay someone to watch my child all day at her house. I provide food and the basics, and I pay her $20 a day for my 2 yr. old.

How are you planning to quantify the opportunity cost of losing all the precious first moments with your child? Having a daycare worker tell you about their first words, first steps, and all the other firsts you will miss will come at a terrible cost to you and especially to your child. Your child will never be able to grasp why a paycheck was more important to you than they were. Stay at home. Your child deserves it.

Call some child care places in your area to get prices.

Price isn't the most important thing. Quality of care is.

Look at local nurseries and day care...ask what they charge!
