I will be travelling to Miami to join a cruise at FL later this month..

I have not been able to secure a transfer from Miami Airport to a Hotel in FL for an overnight stay - Is this easy to do from the airport ?

I assume that a taxi would be sufficient - but having never travelled to USA before, I am not sure about Taxi restrictions/Pricing etc.

Any info anybody can provide would be appreciated..

Go to Supershuttle.com. They pick up at MIA arrivals & will take you to Ft. Laud. They charge by passenger. If there are three or four of you traveling together it may be more economical to take a taxi. OR, you can take Tri-rail, which picks up near the airport & will take you to the station near Port Everglades -- which is also near most of the hotels. From there you can take a cab.

For comparative fares go to:

I know there is a bus to Fort Launderdale, but I'm not sure of any details. It's not really close so I'm guessing a cab ride will be expensive (maybe $40? not sure though). I know there is a web site you can try to find out more about. Try to look for the airport website or public transportation in miami or something like that. Good luck.

the money you will save on the airfare you will spend on the floor transportation. Fly to Miami and take a cab to Coral Cables. U of M is barely 7 miles from the Miami airport. it somewhat is over 30 miles from the feet. Lauderdale airport to the college.

You can take a shuttle from Miami airport to Ft. Lauderdale, I can't
remember the price, but it will take you right to your hotel. I stayed at Best Western which is close to Port Everglades where all the cruise ships leave from. I can't remember the price of the shuttle but you find it as soon as you leave the baggage area.

Try the SuperShuttle service from Miami to Fort Lauderdale.

Depending what time your flight arrives you can take the train it stops outside the airport. http://www.tri-rail.com/schedules_fares/train_schedules.htm

I know it is possible to get there by public transit, but I have never done so.
