This question should be considered only in light of the rest of the Cuban problems.

First, you must understand that the Miami Cubans practically dictate our U.S. Cuban policy. And they have this idea that someday when Castro is gone, that they will return to Cuba (which we all should agree ain't gonna happen after many decades of exile). So our US policy is nothing with Cuba except sanctions.

Second, our political leaders have missed (whether due to Miami Cubans influence or not) the opportunities to render Castro irrelevant as a leader. Pope John Paul II visited Cuba many years ago; and again when Castro recently was ill an Raul took over. We missed our chances to eliminate all barriers between Cuba and the US, thus rendering Castro irrelevant.

it depends on what it trades, I'd be careful. It would be good though cause I'm sure Cuba is a poor country and trading stuff with a rich country would make it richer. Anyways as long as the USA trades stuff with Cuba it would be right.

Yes. I think we should trade North Dakota for Cuba in an even swap.

I would love to see relations normalized with Cuba. The Cuban people are wonderful, the Island is beautiful. There are wonderful opportunities to share crafts, values, knowledge. Too bad that Castro and the US government are being so stubborn. Reconcilliation will eventually occur, probably after Castro is dead. But it is time to move ahead.

China isn't communist anymore. a minimum of i'm like ninety% beneficial on that. they're something else. yet its because of the fact Cuba has, and consistently will characterize the independence of south united statesa.. Cuba became the final stand for all and sundry who did no longer choose to be a capitalist. It lied dormant peacefully for an particularly long term, after its historic previous of hysteria. however the embargo became on no account lifted because of the fact Cuba on no account replaced. they have consistently resented company and north American impact in S.A. and merely presently produce different S.A. countries have been given at the back of that. They witnessed for themselves the devastation of our stupid little gadget. All our electronics, all our low priced trinkets and plastic life might die. merely die. so as that they don't have a decision different than to maintain finding out to purchase and advertising with China. Plus we owe them extra effective than something in our own usa will ever be properly worth. So, if we've been to renounce finding out to purchase and advertising, it would reason loads of issues.

No, it puts the pressure on the Cuban government because they cannot supply their people with basic needs. This will lead to democratic revolution after Castro is dead.

Yes. We need to flood that place with American products, culture, ideas, money, and influence. That's the only way to beat communism.

I think so. This embargo isn't doing Castro and friends any harm but the people aren't doing as well as they could. Why hurt the people because you don't like the government?
