"Google is reported to search over 8 billion"... This information is about WEB PAGES, not DOMAINS. They have over 8 billions of web pages, in their index.
Actual count of domain names, in todays internet world is simply impossible to count. So, try to set your mind in something else, other than finding the total numbers of domain names!
