They honestly don't deserve to do so, but the GOP has proven itself unreliable to truly govern.
I still feel the GOP retains the edge, but it will be too thin to declare a mandate and they will have to deal with the Dems

Yes I think they do. The Republican Congress has been rife with corruption, scandal, law breaking and other undesirable actions. The Republican President has declared himself above and immune to any laws and above reproach by anyone mortal. Also the Vice-President can shoot people in the face, not report it till the next day and make the guy shot apologize.
The last Democrat President was impeached for getting a BJ in office (whatever they claim). The GOP has shown that either they are not worthy of being trusted with a bus schedule or they have given the reigns of the party to the most whacked out part of the party...they cannot be allowed to continue running our country into the ground.
I am not a supporter of the Democrats, but no one in this country will vote for an independent despite the fact that most who run are far more qualified for the jobs than their 2-party opposition, so I must support anyone who can remove the GOP from power.
I suspect that like the GOP the Democrats will be run by the most extreme and crazy part of the party but maybe after their term we will be back to a balanced state

Deserve? The democrats don't deserve anything other than the same freedoms we all share. Do you mean deserve by birth? By marriage? Prostitution?
Democrats are sell outs. They'll sell the security of our country to the highest bidder for their own progression, knowing Conservatives will fix their mistakes. Check history.
They waste our time, money, and patience with endless leaks, fabrications, scandals and inquiries, filibusters, spinning, whining, negativity, and fascism.
They have no self respect. They coagulate to support party felonies, misdeeds, and misdemeanors. Check the background on the most prominent liberal senators. You have to be complacent voting for them to represent you. Their self promoting conduct is dangerous and embarrassing.
Power is all they want. They weren't responsible with power before. Think about it. Do you trust your future to the same circular tap dance Democrats have historically represented?
They don't know how to run a country: how to grow an economy, how to protect the nation. Ask them for useful plans. They don't have any.

What do you mean by "deserve"? They may take one or both houses, but they won't have a governing majority (ie, they would'nt have enough votes to override a Bush veto).
