Depends...my baby is almost 12 weeks old and she is still in a size 1 diaper very comfortably. She is about 10 1/2 lbs.
My friend's baby on the other hand is two weeks younger and ready to move up a size.

When the diapers begins to get too small for the baby to wear switch him or her to the next stage up. I believe when you buy diapers somewhere on the package it tells you what weight's they will fit.

It depends on fast they grow, my 4 month great grandson is already in stage 5 and they are just a smudge large, but the stage 4 is to tight.

Depends on how big the baby is and how fast it grows. My son was in stage 1 until he was about 8 months old. But he's on the smaller side.

There is a weight range on the package, so they'll wear those until they are no longer in the range, or they seem to be a little on the tight side, you can go to the next stage.

Depends on how fast the baby grows and puts on weight. The weight ratings are just a guideline.

You will know. It's basically when the diaper is too small.
