It's gotten to the point of ridiculous. YA allows anyone for any reason to report a "violation", and I'm willing to bet that 99% of the time no REAL violation has occurred. Just some people being asses.

Why is it that it must have been a Republican who reported you? Couldn't anyone with some common decency have done it? Or are you saying that only Republicans would be offended by profanity and vulgarity?

Also, it is against the rules of this forum to use foul language, so whomever it was that did report who, was simply obliging by the rules. If you feel you cannot express yourself without being profane, you should look into finding a forum which allows such behavior.

I'm really interested to know where your ideas are coming from.

Greetings.
I am mostly republican, but really can not be pigeonholed so easily.

I don't use profanity and am quite careful in what I write. Why? Well I find it easier to make my points if I am calm and write in a more proper style. There are times when a more artistic style is appropriate, but generally when trying to convey information or opinion and trying to persuade others to listen to your view, proper English is best.

Now as for your allusion that you were reported by a republican, you don't actually make the statement that it was a republican (for which I applaud you), you know that it is unfair. I think that we need to all be aware of the community guidelines and follow them.

Oh, by the way, what exactly was your question?

Are you kidding? The whole reporting function is a joke.

Get over yourself. The guidelines clearly state that you can't use profanity, so why would you expect any different?

Just use words like crap and hell from now on. They don't get bleeped out, so they must not be profanity.

I wonder if there are rogue people out there reporting just to have their kicks. Someone I know was reported for answering a question properly and in a civilized way? How is that a violation???

I think Yahoo must operate on automated basis, they need to check before they send out these e mails, 'cos these can cause offence too.

I'm a Republican and I get violations quite a bit lately. It's some weird fad going on. I think after the elections it will fix itself. Last violation I got was for saying I was nerd for liking Star Trek. Go figure. LOL

I know how you feel. I got a violation notice that was only because the asker did not agree with my answer.

I runb on a simple philosophy: don't ask the question if you don't want to hear an answer you may not like

It goes both ways, I have already been suspended once, mainly for violations of "chatting", which most of the stuff on here is "chatting". I only report if something is really heinous, so it most likely was not that reported you.

But anyway, once again, it isnt just republicans, its everyone.

I think people who have to constantly use profanity are very limited in critical thinking.

Oh dear !!! Why not just accept the fact that you screwed up and move on.....???? I get deleted all the time for telling people what big dummies they are. Y!A has rules and no matter how appropriate it may seem, if you break THEIR rules, you get deleted.

P.S. We Republicans were smart enough to figure this out early on...
