My friend Murray is one of the persons who conducts the IELTS exams. Here are his pointers.

For those of you that have to undergo the IELTS examination (International
English Language Testing System) prior to an overseas job or academic or
technical training, just go the webpage I have created courtesy of

The page is Get the dots and slashes correct and
you should be fine.

This URL will provide the background and material you need to sail through the
four modules of Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. IELTS is easy. It's
simply a matter of getting the basics under control, especially time management
in the exam context(under the clock!)

This material is all simply "blogs", an ugly word that has a beautiful effect as
you can post your work directly on the web without a clue as to how it is done.
I like that. I have no idea how my motorcycle works either but I ride it
nevertheless and enjoy it beyond the telling.

The central document is called "IELTS for Nurses" but it's fine for any person
taking the examination.

If you don't find it while scrolling down, don't panic. There is a key on the
left for Newer and Older blogs. Click the one you haven't used. It's there.

Most material is related to nursing but that also is no disincentive as it is
still reading material with a word count in red so you can learn your reading
speed (words per minute).

Enjoy!

Best wishes
Murray

It's all free for you to use as you like but don't forget to quote me if you use me later in life. Otherwise you are breaking a basic principle: that of acknowledging your sources.

Good luck.
