The best advice I can give you is to make sure that your skin care is matching your skin type. Before applying foundation, make sure that you have porperly moisturized your face as well, and then give your moisturizer a minute or two to sink into your skin.
After you've applied your foundation, wait another 30 seconds or so, and then dust lightly with some loose powder to help "set" your foundation.
And this might sound silly, but are you touching your face a lot? You may not even realize it, but if you are, that will also work towards rubbing your foundation away.
Lastly, keep a compact with you, and check your reflection every so often, and touch up the powder whenever you can.
As for brands, I've tried the really expensive ones, and the really cheap ones - as long as your skin is prepped properly, they all wear about the same.
Good luck!

I agree with the previous answer. Try MAC and some other makeup manufacturers like Chanel. I've heard great things about these two brands in particular. I use Merle Norman foundation and it is okay. I use Mary Kay liquid to powder which would look better if I didn't have dry skin. I also have dry skin and I have the same problem with my makeup fading. The key is finding a really good moisturizer and then testing out foundations. I would go to a department store and test different ones out. Also, ask around. Get some advice on products and how to use the products from your friends. Good luck!

Those girls do what all women do, they take their handbag into the loo and touch up. A loose powder can help foundation stay put only don't apply it from the morning, it'll look too cakey, just loosely brush over your touched-up face after a few hours. There are even compact mirrors with a little light in them so you don't have to even leave the cubicle for that magic 'my face looks good all day long' effect.

This suggests that you are using the wrong type of foundation for your skin type. Considerations need to made for skin prone to dryness and skin prone to oilyness as they need different things out of the foundation. Best thing to do is go to a good cosmetic company and ask for a demo of their products. They should be able to recommend the correct type of base to use and also the skin care that will best suit you which will improve the behaviour of your skin and therefore the staying power of your foundation. The Body Shop is a good place to try.

Hi Hun,
It's quite possible that it could be because you have very dry skin, that's what it sounds like. I used to have the same problem. I used to have to moisturise before I put my foundation on (nivea is very good) and then apply the foundation on top. Since I have started using Rimmel Moisturising long lasting foundation it's really good and actually lasts all day.
Good Luck.

MAC Make up is very good and will last if you apply it properly, from your description it sounds like you may be applying it a bit too heavily.
Go and see them for a make over (will cost £15) but you get this money back if you buy their make up. The foundation costs around £20-£25 I think but is worth it. They will match it perfectly to your skin tone and type and show you how to apply it properly.
Good luck

Ask your mom for help. Maybe you just need to change the way you prep your skin before applying the makeup.

Because those girls spend all day in the toilets touching up their make up. Isnt that what women do when they spend all day in the toilets?
