I guess you mean put a dvd that you rented into the drive and save the movie onto your hard drive.

Well, you can't. DVD's are not only copy protected but also the data is "arranged" differently than a computer file, so even if you copy the contents of the dvd to the hard drive, it will not play. DVD's require a DVD playing hardware device.

You can make a DVD if you have a recordable dvd disk and and dvd writer, but that is made from files that you make with a digital video camera or mpg's or avi's and the like that you find around the net, etc., through a software program like Nero Burning ROM....
