Yes!

They get paid millions just to kick a ball around a field. I think the people who really deserve to get paid loads don't. People like paramedics, the police, nurses, firefighters, soldiers, engineers etc should be the ones who earn loads because they are making a real difference in this world.
The word "hero" is over used. I remember a football figurine advert wih the caption "A hero in your hand". That's not a true hero. A hero puts his/her life on the line for others, with no regard for their own safety. These true heroes should be paid much more for what they do.

The people who actually improve the world should go down in history and be revered for all time, not sportsmen.

Yes they are, as much as I love football, I don't understand why they get paid so much. I'm going to university struggling with money and I know when I qualify I will be doing a job that I will work hard at but all they need to do is kick the ball and they'll will get paid triple the amount I would get in one week.

What does 'overpaid' mean? The amount of money that is generated from football is immense. Thereare lots of shareholders making killings from investing in successful football teams and lots of manufactures maing enormous amounts selling replica shirts etc... it's not just footballers who are making huge amounts of money, look at Tiger Woods or some of the American basketball and football players, they are sponsored by major manufacturers of sporting equipment and this is where most of their income comes from. The return on investment from the clubs and manufacturers means that the top players are being paid what they are worth.

Without a doubt!!!
If they paid more attention to the game they were heavily paid to play, instead of their appearance and being on the front pages of the papers as opposed to the back.
Maybe england could win some cups?

How they're rated is a personal thing, overpaid, most certainly. If only other sportspeople had a fraction of what footballers get, we would do so well in the Olympics!

i totally agree with u. especially layers like ronaldiniho because if for example if u look at his preformance in the 2006 world cup, he played awful. he is well over paied and doesn't deserve what he is rated. while players such as t.henry and zidan are really good players and so desirve what they are rated and paied even though they do mess up once in a while-hey everyone does that once in a while

yeah i fink that henry is the most overated player of the year, he is crap and plays good against crap teams, the newly promoted teams (watford...) anyway i also think that footballers nowadays are overpaid, com on people, i kno they are entertaining but don't pay them that much, this money could be used 4 good use, like helping the MEDC, and developing countries, children in need. however saying that im a great football fan, com on spurs won against chelsea, even barca couldn't beat them, lol
