Actually, a lot of insurance companies DO pay for abortions...at least the medical insurance that I have had cover them. I don't think they should though, unless there is a risk to the mother's health or something seriously wrong with the baby where they would not survive. There are a lot of people that are willing to pay the mother's medical expenses through private adoption. There are always ads in the classifieds in every paper from lawyers seeking mothers to let their clients adopt a baby. There are so many people that cannot for one reason or another have their own children and they have to be on waiting lists for years because women use abortion as a form of birth control.

Post-abortive syndrome can be really devastating for a woman. Please research a little about it and be supportive of your friend---often women feel pressured into making the decision to abort and have no one supporting them otherwise. Just this past week someone choose not to abort because of the support of a good friend. The baby's grandmother (mom's mom) was pro-abortion, but when the mom decided to carry, she warmed up to the idea of being a grandma! I don't think the mom would have had the strength to make the decision without the support of her friend.
Thanks for reading and God bless!

No medicaid will not pay for an abortion. Plus I have never heard of an insurance company paying any of the fees either. Also abortion is only legal if it is done within the first or second trimester.

No, they will not cover the murder of her child. Planned Parenthood, however, will go out of their way to make sure she gets her "choice". There are many organizations in the community that will help your friend through her pregnancy and help her either raise the child herself, or find it a loving home. It's a shame she feels her only option is abortion.

Also, your friend needs to go a free clinic and get on birth control. She obviously is not responsible or mature enough to face the prospect of raising a child, but I'm sure she won't remain celibate, so she should at least use birth control.

I am a married mother, and due to unknown complications, I nearly died having my daughter. I would love to have another baby, but am terrified of having a near death experience again. I would love to have another child, and it kills me that someone might go have an abortion, when I would love to adopt. But who has $15,000 hanging around to pay an adoption agency?
I am for pro-choice, especially in cases of rape, etc, , but let her know there are people out there who would love to adopt a baby.

It depends what state she lives in. I know in California she only may have to pay about 50 dollars.. They have some kind of finanical assistance. But if she lives in another state like Texas or Florida she may have to pay like 450 thats because they dont have the kind of state assistance California has..

Tell her to call Planned Parenthood and they can answer all questions and she doesn't even have to give her name..

What she needs to do is get in touch with the local Planned Parenthood in your area and ask them if they have a sliding-scale for women who make very little money. They should also be able to refer her somewhere closer if the closest one is very far away.

It really depends on the state that she's in. I live in NJ and it covers them. I only know this because a friend of mine had one done and they paid for it.
