I was up and down all night last night, with what I THOUGHT to be contractions, But come 6 this morning they just kinda 'disappeared' ...And I was finally able to get a couple hours rest...I went to the bathroom at about 9:30, And wiped and had this long gooey looking thing, that was like a clear and brownish color...

I've been losing A LOT of a clear/white mucusy type thing for about 2 weeks...

Maybe labor is FINALLY going to start soon! :-D

HOORAY! Lol

Btw- I'm 39wks and 1 day.

My mucous plug looked like clearish slightly yellow snot. It was relatively firm. I lost a chunk the size of my thumb and thought that was all of it. Boy was I wrong. It was huge!!!!! Like the size of the palm of my hand.

Bloody show is just pink to red discharge/blood. Caused by your cervix dilating.

Stay hydrated, eat well, and stay rested (though you can walk and do normal stuff just don't wear yourself out). A few months from now you won't remember these last hours/days of waiting.

BTW it is very normal to only labour at night, mammals tend to birth at night. Try to get a good nap in today as your labour will probably start up again during the night, though it may peter out again in the morning. Don't worry soon you will have your baby and all this "prep" labour is doing it's job so you will hopefully have a quick birth! (ummmm are you planning on birthing at home? )

Also consider doing some things to make sure your baby is in the optimum position. See a chiropractor if you can (icpa4kids.org to find a specialist in pregnancy and infants). Rock on a birth ball, be careful with your posture, talk to your baby, etc:

(My labour was so long because I didn't want to admit my bad posture had caused him to face the wrong way so I didn't do any exercises, and once I was in labour it was too painful.)

Best of Luck! You'll be great!

Same thing. It's a mucusy looking thing. Like a jelly, clear and pinkish. Kinda like a snot.

That's it then. Labor should start in the next few days.

I never made it to 9 months, but when my daughter, unfortunately was born at 21 weeks I had mucus with just a little bit of blood in it. With my son (Born at 29 week by emergency c-section) I didn't have it.

my " plug " has always gone a few hrs before labour. it tends to look like a yucky mess of pink, white and maybe a little blood
if yours has gone its a great sign that your cervix is getting ready and you may be dilating already and not realize.
i was 9Cm's before my pains kicked in with my second baby !!!
good luck i hope you have a quick and easy birth x x x x

There is no difference. your bloody show is your mucus plug. Although I don't know what it looks like. I'm 8 days over my due date and mine still hasn't appeared. If it does I'll be sure to let you know what it looks like.
