I use a leather DLO case with a flip front for my 30 gig video ipod. So far it has been great. No scratches, and the screen looks fine. One down side is if you are using a dock to connect the ipod to anything, you have to remove it from the case. But I do that all the time and still have no scratches. Of course, no matter what, if you are careless you will get some scratches.

I have only a leather type case and I have had it for 6 months and its not scratched at all. So all you need is the leather case if i were you I would get a DLO case thats the best ipod case brand.

i had a "agent 18 shield" (a clear case) for my nano and it protected it pretty nicely.. only "flaw" in it is that when you use the dock to charger or whatever.. theres a part on the bottem where you slide off so you can dock it with the case on, it tends to be scratchy after repeated use.. but if you dont have a dock and just use the cable.. then your fine..
