Is it really expensive there... ? I've just got back from Mauritius and want to go somewhere in February 07, but NOT somewhere which is going to be as expensive as Mauritius was... it cost a fortune once I got to the country.

Namibia is a country of extremes - and you are picking a very hot time of their year to go there. Mid desert summer!
However, it has a real beauty all its own and the Caprivi Strip in the north has wonderful game viewing as a contrast.
Not sure on how expensive it is now but not too bad when I was there. Worth trying to combine your trip with a visit to Cape Town.

Very quiet compared to South Africa which you should avoid like the plague. The violent crime in South Africa is completely out of control particularly in cities such as Cape Town with it's gang wars and xenophobia.

i was there i went to the coast and stayed there it was not alot lots to see and do
