Pre-1965, in my opinion.

When people actually felt safe enough to leave the doors to their houses and cars unlocked.
When one didn't look around when leaving a bank (or store, these days) to see if there were any "suspicious" characters around.
When women felt safe enough to go out for a walk after dark. Alone.
When people dared to stop and help a stranger in apparent need. Without worrying about potential lawsuits, or it being a trap.
When people's word, or handshake, was as good as a binding, legal contract.
When gentlemen still existed, who would stand up and offer their seats to a woman, if all the seats were taken.
I could go on and on....but need I say more?

Before I grew up and had (major) responsibilites. When the only worry was getting my homework done and who was dating who. Before I decided it would be "cool" to leap right into adulthood where there's kids, bills, work, ex-husband, and his mistresses. I should've taken my dad's advice and "don't be in a hurry to grow up". Too late for that now! D*mn, now I'm a little depressed. Thanks. ☺

Boy oh boy I remember them well, yr 1 till about yr 10 .....no one around, no traffic, you could see the stars at night, man I had a blast.
