28 / (3 - (1/2) x - 8) + 1

When I first did it I got zero. But it didn't seem right so I searched google it came back with five.

Qn: 28 / (3 - (1/2) x - 8) + 1
Ans: Do - (1/2) x - 8 first. That gives you +4.
Then add 3 and 4 together, that obviously gives you 7.
After that take 28 divide by 7 and that gives you 4.
Finally add 4 with 1 and bingo, you get 5!

28/(3-(1/2)X-8)+1
=28/(3+4)+1
=(28/7) +1
=4+1=5
Therefore 5 is the correct answer

it is a simple rule
you have to do the maths calculation based on this rule.
BODMAS
b-brackets
o-of (x of y, x% of y, etc)
d-div from left to right
m- multiplication from left to right
a-addition frm l to r
s-sub from l to r.

First letter having more priority than the last. means first do the calcs inside brackets then the OFs then the divisions and so one

this rule applies for all the calculations

P- Parenthesis
E- Exponents
M- multiply
D-Divide
A- Add
S- subtract

i have no idea. make sure you did inside the parenthesis first.
