Sounds like you may have adware on your computer.
Spybot Search & Destroy will yank the nasties out, and if you run their "Immunize" option, you'll be protected from lots of different nasties.

I also strongly urge you to get an up-to-date browser that blocks pop-ups... one that's more up-to-date than Internet Explorer 7.

It will copy over your settings from other browsers (cookies, settings, bookmarks). Firefox is powerful too, it's more up-to-date than even IE7 according to the web standards (w3.org).
The main reason I like Firefox is because it's customizable.
Why is customizability important?
Imagine being able to do 2 small things and never seeing a banner ad, flash ad or an iframe ad again? (Remember, pop-ups are already gone)

Control panel, Internet options. Enter Yahoo as your home page.

Yahoo home page has nothing to do with pop ups you are getting,go to Microsoft site and down load security pack2 you won't see those pop ups any more.

You have been hijacked by the bad guys... but you can root them out... Reboot into safe mode... (tap F8 key at start of reboot); run an online scan here... http://www.ewido.net/en/onlinescan/
Let it do it's magic, reboot.... go back to ewido and download and install the anti-spyware application, also get windows defender off of Microsofts site.

u said that the pops up change ur default page
that mean u know how to change it
just get some upgrade version of Internet Explorer
because it hav the option of blocking pops up

While at Yahoo, click on Tools, then Internet Options and then type in the whole URL for Yahoo, even the http://. when you click apply and OK, you will be set and can change easily!

you have a browser hijacker you need to download a good antispyware update it and run it in safe mode
