I am thinking of buying this kind of thing:

MPR10 Ultra Magnetic Pest Repeller
http://www.martleyelectronics.co.uk/pestcontrol-rodent.html#rp110

or this
PestClear (Pest-Stop) 2000 Pest Deterrent
http://www.martleyelectronics.co.uk/pestcontrol-rodent.html#pestcontro

to get rid of the mice in a flat I've just rented. Does anyone have any experience?

I am interested in either magnetic repellents or the ones that make a high pitched noise. The second one I linked to does both.

a friend of mine has those..hers makes a clicking sound (i think every 60 secs) i have asked her about those (she says she doesn't even hear the clicking sound anymore) according to her they do work really good.. but they are not something that will get rid of pests 100%.. but she says they do get rid of most of her problems.. she says about 80%.. but she has had hers for a long time.. ill bet the new ones are even better..

Having been a once, long ago farmer, I suggest that anything you buy, short of an execution device will have little positive effect, other than to whom you bought the device from.

There are also moral, animal lover issues involved, though I realize rodent infestation is a major, valid concern.

Perhaps if you disassociate yourself from thinking of all the wee critters as Disney Characters,,,if in fact you might??? The erradication process can be justified. I only suggest DO NOT use GLUE traps.

Other than an electrical device that actually Electrocutes an animal,,, a sound device, or magnetic device will only benefit the seller.

Magnetic repeller? Err, I thought you were asking about those that give out a high-pitched noise that only teenagers or mice can hear and they both get annoyed and leave.

Electronic rodent repellents do not work. They are a waste of money.
