Be as stubborn as possible, and keep arguing, question everything the other says. Then put your theory back in place. It's true, the last word is important.

But you are only a true winner if you truly know you are right.

It depends on what you mean by "winning." 1) If you really pay attention and ask questions to clarify their point of view, you'll look wise and reasonable to bystanders and if they're really wrong, they will trip themselves up with their own mouth. 2) If you're hoping they'll change their mind, find a point of common ground between you and emphasize that until their nodding and agreeing. Then humbly show how that point is fundamental to your position... And then, while they're still agreeing, Get The _ _ _ _ Out of That Argument. Make some light, closing remark that implies that both of you now are in complete and happy agreement and leave on that note! Remember: Never Talk After the Sale! If you rub it in that you won, you'll be worse off than before you started!

Rush Limbaugh is good at this, just do not allow the other person to talk and when they do keep throwing more questions at them. This causes confusion among those listening and they forget what the original debate/argument was. Then you win because it makes the other person look like they not answering the question at hand.

Not care if you win and walk away from the dispute.

Your self worth does not equate to "being right" in someone elses eyes. Learn from what they have to say and stay true to you.
