Do you use the Serenity Prayer to help you get through day?

this is how i say it to myself

God
(or my higher power who likes to spice up my life with jokes)

grant me some serenity
(b4 i go insane)

to accept the things i cannot change
(most likely other ppl whom i have NO control over & situations that i try to insert my will into)

to change the things i can
(which means ME and ONLY ME, my ideas, my perceptions, and my choices)

and the wisdom to know the difference
(come on wisdom!!!)
which is why i say this prayer, to ask my higher power to help me sort out what i can and cannot control. if i can change it (basically me or my attitudes) then i have gained the wisdom to know that i can be serene regardless of the situation and ultimately happy. if i cannot change it (others attitudes or choices) then i gain the wisdom to know that i must lift them up into my creators hands since mine are to small to carry them. and thus lifting them up and taking the burden of responsibilty off of my shoulders, again i can find a place of serenity. alway realizing that 'this too shall pass' helps me to remember even in the darkest of hours, the sun will shine again and serenity is my choice.

The Serenity Prayer is awesome and it's a great motivational tool, but unfortunately, I don't refer to it as often as I should. I have a big issue with "accepting the things I cannot change". But, thank you for reminding me that I should!
