LInk up with other local stores, local gyms and salon/beauty type places and do a pamper evening for your customers. Especially in the run up to Christmas get them in and get them hooked. Do food and drink, giveaways ( some stores like perfume shops will give you samples) personal shoppers and run offers exclusive to the people that attend. Print invites and posters and give them out in your local town centre. Do it after hours or over a weekend so that even those who work can attend.

The best approach to take sort of depends on a few factors.
Where is your store located? Is there a lot of traffic that goes by? or is it in an area with very little traffic.
My suggestion is to keep your store visually pleasing or update it to have a trendy appeal. As a consumer there are three things I look for when i continue to shop at a store.
Variety of merchandise
Price
Aesthetics
Since you're doing a new label and have discounts and sales you've got the first two covered.
Try updating the look of the store or with the way you display your merchandise. There's really cool inexpensive ways to display what you're selling. Check out other stores and see what they are doing. Maybe you could get some great new ideas.
If there's a lot of traffic that goes by work on a great window display make sure its eye catching. Most the stores I shops that I frequent, at one point I saw a window display that was shiny and caught my eye so I decided to check it out. It might be just me, but if the window display is shiny or glittery or just looks fun. I'm going in (that's if they like the product they are selling).
You could also try new avenues of advertising. I'm not sure what you have already tried, but there's so many TV, radio, Internet. You could also start a mailing list for customers. Just get their name and email address and send emails with a flyer attached when y'all have a new product or there is a sale. And send coupons out every once in awhile.
Also try networking with other stores in your area. (I'm guessing you are some sort of clothes or shoe store. ) If your a clothing store go to the other shoe or accessory stores and see if you can leave flyers or cards out for ppl to grab. And do the same for them. It's basically free advertising. But look for stores that compliment your business practices and compliment what you're selling, and also cater to your demographic.

I personally own a line of jewelry that I represent myself and I have personally found that discounts and coupons dont do much in the way of brining in extra sales, infact they can hurt you if you do it too often. People will expect coupons and discounts if you do it too often, they will wait and never pay full price anymore.
Advertisement is good. There is nothing like word of mouth though. Contests are a better way of getting a buzz in my opinion. Entrants will have to purchase items to be a part of the contest. You must advertise the contest heavily to get as many people as you can to come on in.
I find a good product with a decent price will pretty much hold its own once it is popular. Of course you have to stay up on the hottest colors and trends to hold it.

Leafleting with a '10% off all purchases' day, sandwich board man parading round the shopping centre advertising the 10% off day, nibbles and soft drinks in the shop on the day, a loyalty card scheme to bring people back again, say, if they spend £50 they get £5 off next time??

Word of mouth is best. See if you can give out vouchers in clubs and pubs. Make sure you give good customer service and customers will then say nice things about your shop to their friends, resulting in more customers. Promote the new label too. Good luck :-)

Try school newspapers to attract teens, also sponsoring neighborhood/city events will be good, and radio ads are great. Also turn to the Internet MySpace page would be good, try a website or eBay store online to attract clientele on the Internet.

You could hold a promotion, for the new label, and offer a discount to people spending say £25.00 or more and give them a free glass of wine.....
