eventually yes, you will notice a significant drop in the number of games being developed and released until eventually there are no more.

it will no longer be profitable for Nintendo or third party developers to develop software for a system that is loosing market share. These companies will focus on developing software that is popular and will sell more, like for the new Wii.

The Nintendo Wii will support GameCube games and have the ability to connect most of the GameCube hardware to the Wii. Phased out? It's those other developers faults when they put most of their games for PS2 and Xbox, when GameCube was present.

it looks like it. gamecube phase out N64. N64 phased out super nintendo. Nintendo really wants people to buy the new and forget abou the old.
