You get wireless to your desktop the same way you get wireless on a laptop. The only difference is that desktop generally do not come with a wireless card. You have two options you can buy either a PCI wireless card that you have to open up your PC to insert or you can buy a USB wireless card. Either option is fine. If you are OK with opening up your PC and installing a card then, I personally word go with a PCI card. I just like having a fixed card, I think they are a little faster. The other option if you are not comfortable opening a computer to install a card is to with a USB card. Either option should not run you more than $35-60 depending on the speed. Newegg has one of the better search engines for this type of thing but you may find a better price at zipzoomfly or tiger direct.

You have extra expansion slots in you your desk top. You can purchase a wireless Internet expansion card for about 40 to 100 dollars at any computer store depending on how fast you want to connect at. It is a simple plug in to a slot. There is a free telephone service to walk you through the instillation.
