Yeah, but it's more sad than humorous when you think about it. Perusing these Y!A boards inevitably has me thinking that we're fostering a generation of illiterate cry babies. Granted, some of the questions posed here are facetious. Others, however, represent the actual capabilities of the asker. Sad...

Yes it's hilarious and infuriating at the same time! And a ridiculously high percentage of wrong spelling too! And grammar! My god, what is wrong with these people??
They're not long questions either, how can you make so many mistakes in a 6 word sentence?? Never heard of spellcheck or a dictionary??
OK, rant over

Yes - and you often find the worst cases come from the most painfully bigoted morons who are trying to sell their own supremecy. Of course, I do my bit to educate them. Did I say educate? Of course, I meant berate and ridicule.
I am also amused by Americans who try and correct the 's' to a 'z' in English spellings of words in attempt to appear clever. It doesn't occur to them that not only does their language deviate from its original (our language) but that we are able to use and identify both forms as correct. It particularly amuses me when they then S-P-E -L-L O-U-T T-H-E W-OR-D in capital letters to prove how sophisticated they are.

Yes! It bothers me sometimes, especially when the question is so skillfully worded. The spelling mistakes are so easily corrected by using the check spelling button. I don't know why people chose not to use it.

It's quite worrying! The percentage of (supposedly) intelligent adults on here that need basic English skills is really high! Most people don't even bother to use the spell check which REALLY bugs me.......

I suspect that spelling has always been poor amongst large sections of the community, but, until the advent of the internet, this was less evident.

You can usually tell the difference between the non-native English speakers and the people who are simply being too lazy to run the spell checker or to simply proofread their submissions.
