You're saying something is not to your liking. Like if a boy walks by and your friend is like "isn't he hot" and you say "not my cup of tea" then you are saying you don't think he's hot.

Like "football is not my cup of tea as I have no interest in watching it and don't understand the pleasure of watching football"
