In truth we took the money and flushed it down the toilet of welfare for the poor.

What do you mean, WHY haven't we returned?
We did, many times!
Apollo 11 - July 16, 1969. First manned landing on the Moon, July 20.
Apollo 12 - November 14, 1969. First precise manned landing on the Moon.
Apollo 14 - January 31, 1971. Alan Shepard, the sole astronaut of the Mercury MR-3 mission, walks on the Moon.
Apollo 15 - July 26, 1971. First mission with the Lunar Rover vehicle.
Apollo 16 - April 16, 1972. First landing in the lunar highlands.
Apollo 17 - December 7, 1972. Final Apollo lunar mission, first night launch, only mission with a professional geologist.
Cities on the moon? Get real!
No atmosphere, no water, c'mon!

Water. Currently, there are no known sources of water on the moon, thus all of it would have to be transported from earth. To have a city, that would require millions of gallons of water, all of which would have be to lifted into space. It costs several million dollars just to put a few pounds of matter into space; that much water would bankrupt nations. Furthermore, why would be build cities on the moon? Other than living space and possible health benefits for some individuals, there is no reason to colonize the moon. No resources, and anyone who lived on the moon too long couldn't come back to earth without drastic health problems (too little gravity).

The reason we went to the moon on 1969 is because we were in a cold war with Russia and its was a game of who has the bigger balls. We haven't been back their since be cause their is no need to show we have a big pair anymore. Now we just put large holes in other people's countries who try to denounce us.

It was too expensive. Ultimately, it was all propaganda BS anyways. Then we were in a space race with the Soviets. Once we made it to the Moon how could the USA top it?
Ultimately, it requires too much money and resources to make it to the moon and back.
Pity I remember watching the moon shots as a kid. The shuttle launches just do not compare.

There hasn't been a need to do it again. We've been making other explorations and going to other places again. Why should NASA take time to do something that has already been done and is already known about?

That's because the little grey guys told us in no uncertain terms to get the hell off of THEIR turf. And since they have the ray guns to back up their claim, we have to make nice.

We never went to the moon. I am convinced. Too many questions and all NASA's answers to those questions are B.S.
