This works every time. Tear up a brown paper bag or two into large pieces. Lay a piece over the wax and put a warm iron over the piece of paper. Repeat as necessary. The wax will melt and the paper will absorb the wax taking it out of the fabric.

It may sound strange, but putting it into the freezer compartment will get the wax off. You have to leave it for 24 hours or so, then remove from the freezer and it should just scrape off.
