Whatever you do, do not feed chicken or hot dogs, as some have done. They will eat frozen foods, like silversides, krill, and sandeels. If you want to do live foods, then try tetras. Goldfish are especially bad for carrying diseases and can transfer them to your piranha tank.

I did a house-sitting stint for a friend this summer and he had two of these bad boys. I would give them 3 night crawlers each every other day. I would also treat them with squid, shrimp, other seafood.

Goldfish. Just go the the pet store and buy a couple of goldfish, take the fish home, drop him in the tank , and let the show begin!
