I don't know if it is unethical, but it's a little sad. Some people just want acceptance of the views; to know that they are not alone in their thinking. The reason they do it on Answers is it's sanitary. Just click on the little thumbs down icon and you can assert your view and discount another's without much effort or thought. Like I said, a little sad.

And why is this under beauty & style? Unless, of course, the "sick worldview" you refer to concerns those women who still insist on wearing blue eyeshadow.

No. On the contrary, it is standard practice. It reminds me of these lines from a Simon and Garfunkle song: "All lies in jest, still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest". Unfortunately, the right we hold most dearly in this country is the right to live in TOTAL DENIAL without being questioned or challenged in any way. It is very sad.
