It's for remembrance day, Nov 11th, and is a symbol of those who gave their lives in the 2 world wars so that people like you can live in a democracy. The proper time for the 2 minutes silence is at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, but for many years people kept it at 11 am on the Sunday after 11th November. In 1996, on the 50th anniversary, the 2 mins silence was also kept on the 11/ Nov at 11 am, and people have been honouring this time every year since, and you will see a majority of shops and businesses, stop for those 2 minutes where and when it is safe to do so. Places like Heathrow will come to a halt in the terminals for the 2 mins, obviously planes have to keep landing and taking off, but the rest of the terminal will be still and quiet for that period.

Remembrance Sunday occurs in Britain at the beginning of November. It falls on the Sunday closest to the 11th November and is usually referred to as Remembrance Sunday or occasionally Armistice Day. This particular date was chosen in recognition of the end of World War I (at the time referred to as The Great War). The end of World War I happened in 1918 on the 11th day of the 11th month at the 11th hour, 11am on the 11th of November. Some people still observe a two minute silence at this time. Some places will observe this silence on the actual day, some on Remembrance Sunday. However, today Remembrance Sunday is used to remember all those who have given their lives whilst serving Britain.

If you are in the UK at the end of October and/or the beginning of November you will probably see the lead up to this event. For a couple of weeks before Remembrance Sunday you will see people wearing a small red paper or silk poppy pinned to their lapels. These poppies are made by disabled ex-servicemen and women and the proceeds of their sale are used to look after wounded ex-service people. There is no set price for a poppy, people give what they can afford, or that they think is appropriate.

To honour the memory of those who died for our countries freedom. Sadly this freedom seems to be diminishing here in Britain since the sixties with the rise of political correctness and the neo Marxist take over of the public institutions ( BBC). And not forgetting the great act of treason giving the country away to the EU.How could this once great country be dismantled in such a short time?

It's coming up on Armistice Day (Rememberance Sunday) in the UK. It's the anniversary of the cease-fire for the First World War.

Because Opium is made out of poppy's.
And England won the Opium War, that means England supplied China with Opium and then attacked them for not wanting to become addicts.
That's how Hong Kong became British.
Thanks HSBC (Hong Kong Shanghai Business Consortium).
That's what they did, that's what they are.
Gangsters, Crooks, Drug pushers.
And they made an Empire out of it!!!!
