For the same reason women chase men.

This behavior predates back to cavemen times when the male goes hunting and the female remains at the camp waiting for the food and taking care of the fire. Thus in the modern times men retained their hunter tendencies and start chasing anything and anyone that catches their interest. They chase promotions, they chase get-rich-quick schemes, they chase dreams, and they chase women for procreation.

Men need to procreate for the species to survive. Thus men chasing women rather than women doing the chasing is more common. If women did the chasing then they'd be fighting over the males because the male-to-female ratio is too low to provide a mate for each living female. That is why it is better for the men to choose their mate rather than the women.

Thank goodness they do. I would be worried if they all stopped. Many many years ago there were not alot of women chasing men. To "Taken" who said they seem nervous? When the population of women grew where they started chasing the man? That took away the man's game. Which causes the man now to be nervous. A man chasing a woman now may feel she may be the chaser and turn to the guy next to her which makes the man feel nervous.

Basic instinct. The other day on Oprah... Dr. M. Oz talked about men & women have a smell that attracts them to eachother. No, not stinky smell... that right after u shower clean, refreshing smell.

Then their are the slobs that chase anything in a skirt and will mount it if the opportunity arises. There are those who are Players, they like to flirt and chase. Do the dance and tease.

And then their are those who are looking for a permanent mate chase in all the wrong places...

The thrill of the hunt, men are natural born hunters and this goes all the way back to the cave men days, they would bash the woman over the head and drag her home by the hair. This is instinct and once they have succeeded with the hunt, most give up interest, unless the hunted was really hard to get!
