You are falling into depression. I have been there, and know how you are feeling. I still have problems with motivating myself to doing things. Even to go outside the house. It got so bad, I had to seek pro help. They gave me pills and a psych, and a counselor, but none of that helped me much, so I finally asked for a book I could buy that would help me get out of this. depression. I was advised by my counselor to buy the book called "Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy" by David D. Burns, MD. It is a yellow covered paperback book and only costs $7.99. It was first copyrighted in 1980 by AVON Books (that's the publisher). You should be able to find it at ANY good bookstore. All you really need to do is read the first 50 pages, as the rest of it is just examples. But read those first 50 pages very carefully, and understand them. If you don't understand a paragraph, go back and read it over again until you do understand it. Keep reading until you have read the first 50 pages. There is a test at the end of those pages, and if you take it, you may find out how depressed you really are. I suggest you Xerox that page, so that you can keep your answers private, AND I would suggest you take the test FIRST, before you even read the book. Then you will see how bad your depression really is. Then read the book. By Xeroxing, you can take the test repeatedly, over the next year. It is a valid and reliable test of depression.
This book is not your standard "I am depressed" book. Not only will this book explain what depression is (but you already know what the symptoms are, but what you don't know is what is causing them!), but the thing that it will REALLY do for you is SHOW you exactly what you are doing wrong in your brain, AND it will SHOW you how to STOP doing those wrong things. It will require that you be honest with yourself, and recognize what you are thinking, but if you do this, you will eventually cure yourself. IT IS THE ONLY THING THAT CURED ME. And I can tell you, I was very close to suicide, as that is how bad depression can get. It is a very real disease and is a downward spiral that can lead to suicide, so I suggest you get up NOW, take a shower, and drive to the bookstore and buy this book, and read it. The cure will not happen overnight, it will take some time. But it will be worth it.
You see, depression is really all about "negative thought patterns" overwhelming your brain, such that you have lost the ability to recognize positive thoughts. Until you understand this, you will have a difficult time of getting out of depression. It worked for me. I hope this will help you too.
Depression can become VERY serious. It is not some made up disease, you cannot just "snap out of it", it is a very REAL disease, and has VERY serious consequences. Imagine a disease so powerful that the only solution to it that you can see is to kill yourself. That is how powerful depression is! So get help now, before you spiral down even farther. The deeper you go, the harder it is to crawl back out. And only you can do it. Take my advice, and buy this book. Do it TODAY, and read it CAREFULLY. And follow what it says to do. Then you will be on the road to recovery.
Note: there are newer editions of this book, you don't have to buy the original one from 1980, as this book has been reprinted many times. So buy a newer edition. I am not sure if the cover will be yellow or not, just get the title and author the same, and you will then have the same book. It is located in the "self help" section of your bookstore. Accept no other books, no substitutes. This is the one book that will help you the most.
I tell you this, because you add the comment that you "can't even go outside", and that is a common characteristic of moderate to severe depression. I know, I've been there. I was in a Psych hospital, and saw that "can't go outside" REPEATEDLY in many patients, so you are not alone.
This is NOT going to be easy, but please remember, you will EVENTUALLY get better.
And $8 is not much to save your life. This is called "cognitive therapy", and you can do this all by yourself. You don't need a counselor, just this book. So get up, go out and buy it.

First thing is put a few minutes in your appearance. That makes you feel more motivated to leave the house.
Then prioritize, if you could only get one thing done today what would it be? Do that thing--then lather, rinse, repeat.
Imagine the day over and you having accomplished all you set out to do...what kind of reward would be doable later? A glass of wine, a favorite TV show, a new magazine, an ice cream sundae?
Use the carrot and the stick---it works!
Now, get off the computer, go brighten yourself up and go take on your day! You can do it and if you're a coffee drinker, treat yourself to a full caff Starbucks along the way, puts a lot of spring in your step!
Good luck!

Have you already discussed this w/your doctor? I'm wondering if you are depressed or anxious...if you have and are on medication than you need to talk to your Dr about changing it...I am on anti-depressants and some days I have to FORCE myself to leave the house, I never regret it cuz I end up feeling sooo much better...even if it's to go for a walk around the block.
