some of them are just a total waste of valuable space & was just wondering if it is ok to do this or not.

It may be true that Fonts don't take up much space (mine is 97 MB due to some specialized fonts), but they do slow down start-up. The more fonts you have in the font folder the more Windows needs to load at start-up.

Delete the ones you really know you don't use. If you need it in the future, any Windows CD has the fonts (OS, Office, etc). Just reload them as you need. Also, the fonts are located at the Microsoft Website.

Unless you have a tiny hard drive (by that i mean less than 1 Gig) there's really no point in removing fonts. I used to have an 85Meg hard drive back in the Windows 95 days and i had over 100 fonts back then which took up no more than 1-2 meg. Honestly they are tiny and well worth keeping as many as you can to spice up documents etc.

Ones you've installed yourself then yes; some others are part of the system and shouldn't be uninstalled.
Theres a program you can get called TweakUi from the Microsoft site and its brilliant. If you accidentally delete a system font then you can use Tweak Ui to replace your fonts.
But you need to have your other fonts backed up in a seperate folder to replace those afterwards!

I suppose yes but you are wasting your time, as you are not going to save any real space and in the future you might install a programme that will need them, I would not bother.

It is safe but dont delete ones you use or have been used on your computer otherwise documents wont open. They take up such little space I would just leave them all.

Yes, you can remove them, but they take up such a tiny amount of space it really isn't worth the effort.
