I'm neither an optimist or a pessimist. I am a realist. I understand that life is hard, you don't always get what you want or what you need. I also know that life has great gifts like love and friendship that at one point or another we are blessed with them. Life is a constant ride full of ups and downs and I never expect the good or the bad, I just take what I get and make the best of it.

I'm an optimist. We don't know why we are on the planet or why we are conscious in the first place. I like to believe that we are here for a reason, or plan, if you will. So everything that happens, positive or negative, is all part of the plan. So I just roll with it... even as horrific as it may be.

Whenever I work towards fulfilling a desire, I am an optimist and whenever I hate my desire, I am a pessimist. Really depends on the desire vis-a-vis my self confidence. Being 'small', most of the times it is the latter!

Judging by your nickname, should I assume you are an optimist? Well, names can often mislead, no?

Once a person said that he heard that in Russia someone exchanged a person for a six pack of Pepsi. A child that was around asked why everybody react in disbelieve and I said to her because -if true- that means that they value so high a Pepsi as equal to a human being. Another person found my response interesting because she thought that the answer was that they value a person so low as equal to a Pepsi.

I am a pessimist because either I am always right or pleasantly surprised... which is a very optimistic perspective on pessimism, I suppose.

I am an optimist... because having a negative outlook on life (pessimism) never benefited anyone. It is healthier, and more fulfilling to be an optimist... to see the good in the world around you.
