The term nation is often used as a synonym for ethnic group (sometimes "ethnos"), but although ethnicity is now one of the most important aspects of cultural or social identity for the members of most nations, people with the same ethnic origin may live in different nation-states and be treated as members of separate nations for that reason.

In political geography and international politics a country is a geographical territory.

so in simple terms - a nation consists of people and a country is a physical location.

Technically there is no difference. Colloquially country is vague and has multiple different definitions loosing speaking about the overall structure of a specific region, while nation speaks specifically about the people involved.

Webster Dictionary
Country - 1) land in general; 2) a nation, its territory or people.
Nation - a race of people having a common descent, language, and culture; 2) a body of people constituting a political unit under one government.

I do not understand your second question.

They roughly mean the same thing: A Large Political Body.

A Nation can also refer to the larger historical and cultural aspects. Strong Central Government

A Country can also refer to a piece of land by itself(without people).

In Star Trek 6: The Klingons call the future the undiscovered country.

Yes, but then again it's not completely un-doable. I don't think the European country part is true, I lived in an European country, and trust me sometimes I think they do a LOT more. I don't wanna moan but I will in short lol... as much as I hate it, I currently have to revise for about 6-8 science exams, get fit for 1 PE practical exam, possibly 3 maths exams, 2 mock exams which are all in March, 1 coursework deadline to meet by February, 2 deadlines to meet by March, 1 deadline to meet by April! It's awful... Then there are school activities, and other normal life things to do deal with. My social life is dead as well. These are the subjects I do: Citizenship (short course) RE (short course, did my full one in a year but I only got a C!) English Language Maths Biology Chemistry Physics ICT (4 GCSE's) PE NVQ Business French (not a damn GCSE, but worth A/B) Every single day I have to do sooo much work, and I always feel like I am the only who actually cares about the grades etc. nobody else seems to bother. Don't you think it is stupid that most don't realize it is not fun and play anymore?

a nation is composed of people who share the same physical charateristics, same historical backgrounds, speak the same language, and controlled by one government. A country is the place you belong that can either be a nation or state. (wink wink*)
